Confined Space Training with NWFD
March 7, 2012

On March 7, 2012 members of the Wildwood City Fire Dept. and North Wildwood Fire Dept. conducted confined space rescue training.  This training was conducted as part of a quarterly training program in which both departments train on certain topics together.  During the morning members received confined space refresher training.  All members then rotated through various stations to re- familiarize themselves on air monitoring equipment, ventilation equipment, confined space tripod operations, lock-out/tag-out equipment, patient packaging (Stokes/ SKED), and communications equipment.  The afternoon consisted of a rescue scenario at a local MUA facility.  The scenario consisted of two workers down in a pit approximately 30' below grade.  Members were assigned various functions to successfully rescue the two victims.  It was another successful day of training for the WFD and NWFD and much was learned by all.  This continual training allows for both departments to provide the best possible response to emergencies of all types  to the residents and visitors of the Wildwoods.
