On January 19, 2011 the Wildwood and North Wildwood Fire Departments conducted an 8 hour vehicle extrication training session. Members of both departments received a classroom refresher in the morning. Crews then proceeded to the Center City Parking Lot in Wildwood where several donated vehicles were set up. Members rotated through several stations. These stations included air bags/air tools, vehicle stabilization (ResQ Jacks/Paratech Struts), and third door conversions. After completing the different stations all members participated in a large scenario. The scenario involved a van and a car with the van on top of the front of the car. Members worked together to stabilize both vehicles and to extricate the trapped victims. The scenario was successfully completed. The training session was very successful and the Wildwood Fire Dept. looks forward to continued joint training with the members of the North Wildwood FD. |
