The members of B Platoon hosted the Pre-K students from Glenwood Avenue Elementary School (St. Simeon's Annex) on October 8, 2015 during Fire Prevention Week. The children watched a fire safety video and then learned some important fire safety lessons. They were able to see a firefighter in full gear, up close and personal, to teach them that firefighters are not scary when they are wearing all of their gear and masks. The students were then treated to a special visit by Sparky. Before leaving the children were able to take an up close look at the apparatus and even were able to operate a real fire hose. Thank you to the Pre-K students and all of their teachers for coming to visit. |
