On Saturday May 26, 2012 at approximately 20:57 hours Engine 38 (B Platoon) was dispatched to 227 E. Maple Ave. for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival Capt. Gose reported a 3 story wood frame dwelling with smoke showing from Division 3. Fire was located in a storage area on Division 3. The can was used to put a quick knock on the fire in that area. Crews began opening up and found that the fire had extended into the wall and ceiling area on Division 3. Crews aggressively opened up while a line was stretched to Division 3. The fire was quickly contained. Crews also set up a water chute from Division 2 leading down the stairs and outside. This prevented severe water damage on Division 1 and 2. Crews conducted overhaul and the CMC Fire Marshal conducted their investigation. Units operated on the scene for about 1.5 hours before taking up. Another nice stop by Engine Co. 38. |
