Multiple Incidents for 'B' Platoon
December 7, 2010

On Tuesday December 7, 2010 as B platoon firefighters were coming in for duty, Engine 38 and Rescue 390 were dispatched to 400 E. 2nd Ave. in North Wildwood with Engine 2 for a reported house explosion.  Upon arrival North Wildwood Engine 2 reported a boiler explosion with significant structural damage.  Engine 38 arrived and assisted in securing utilities to the building as well as shoring.  NWFD's ambulance transported an occupant to the hospital with burns.  During this incident a box alarm was transmitted for 212 E. Magnolia Ave. for an AFA.  The box was sounded due to Engine 38 being committed.  Engine 37 from Station 3-2 and Rescue 392 responded and found the alarm was activated due to a cooking incident.  While clearing this call Rescue 392 responded mutual aid to Wildwood Crest for a respiratory emergency.  Upon arrival WCRS was on scene with one patient in cardiac arrest.  WFD assisted WCRS with removing the victim from the second floor.  Engine 38 and Rescue 390 cleared the North Wildwood incident and responded here as well for a second patient.  Shortly after clearing this call, just before 19:00 hours the box alarm was transmitted for 2705 Lake Rd. for a report of smoke.  Upon arrival Engine 38 confirmed a working fire in a 1-story occupied multiple dwelling.  Units found fire burning inside of an exterior wall.  A 1-3/4" line was stretched as the wall was opened up and the fire exposed.  The fire was quickly knocked with no extension into the dwelling.  Units stood by to assist the Fire Marshal in the investigation.  Units operated on the scene for approximately 1.5 hours. B-Platoon rounded out their busy night with several more fire and medical runs.  They had 10 runs on the night including the 2 box alarms.
